BATON ROUGE, LA – Southern University head cross-country coach Teremine White announced the Jaguars' 2023 schedule Wednesday, a 6-meet slate.
2023 Cross-Country Schedule
"We are excited for the kids to be back and get started with the season," White said. "We have a good group coming back, 10 runners on the male side and 12 runners on the women's side. Camille Lewis was in the top-10 last season and look forward to her to finish in the top five this year."
"We have a transfer from Alcorn that should be a top runner on the men's side," White continued. "We also have Lafayette Collins coming back after a strong season last year. We have a close-knit group that will be able to run in a pack towards the front. We are looking forward to having some runners make it past the SWAC championship."
The Jaguars will have five of the six meets in Louisiana.
Southern will open the season with a trip to New Orleans for the UNO opener on September 1. The Jaguars and Lady Jaguars will then travel across town for the LSU Invitational on September 15.
The month will round out with the Cowboy Stampeded (Sept. 23) and the Nicholls XC Invite (Sept. 30). The Cowboy Stampede will take place in Lake Charles, while the Nicholls XC Invite will be in Thibodaux.
The final two meets of the season will be the SLU Lion Up in Husser (Oct. 7), Louisiana and the SWAC Championship in Tallahassee, Florida (Oct. 23).
