- SU battled all game to keep the lead and knock off Prairie View in game one of gthe weekend series.
- PVAMU took an early 1-0 lead but couldn't hold on once the Jaguars got thier bats going in the fourth inning.
- Wilson pitched eight innings seeing 28 batters giving up two runs off five hits. Ozoa pitches one inning only giving up one hit and picking up his second save on the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Southern finished the night with five hits and PVAMU finished the night with seven hits.
- Southern finished the game with three errors, while Prairie View finished the game with two errors.
- Southern left nine runners on base, while PVAMU left ninbe.
- Southern struck out three times and Prairie View struck thirteen times.
- O'Neill Burgos and Gustavo Nava Sanchez picked up the Jags first runs of the day off JJ Rollon doubled down the left field line. Burgos, Nava Sanchez and Jah'li Hendricks scored one run each.
- Four different Jaguars batters recorded a hit. Quincy Smith II led the Jags with two hits, while Burgos, Rollon and Hunter Tabb finish the day with one hit each.
