Southern Shuts Out Alcorn State On The Road

Wilson pitched eight innings throwing 112 pitches, 11 strike outs with no walks. After this game he over 50 K's in his last four starts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • SU scored in the first inning and never looked back shutting the Braves out.
  • ASU picked up four hits on the day but could not get any runs off the hits.
  • Wilson pitched eight innings seeing 26 batters giving up no runs on the day. Ozoa pitches one inning only giving up no hits and picking up his third save on the season.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Southern finished the night with six hits and ASU finished the night with four hits.
  • Neither team had any errors on the day.
  • Southern left eight runners on base, while ASU left five.
  • Southern struck out five times and Alcorn State struck thirteen times.
  • Jah'li Hendricks picked up the Jags first run of the day off O'Neill Burgos single to the left field wall. Burgos, Hendricks and Jacoby Radcliffe scored one run each. 
  • Four different Jaguars batters recorded a hit. Burgos and Khyle Radcliffe led the Jags with two hits each, while KJ White and Hendricks finish the day with one hit each.
UP NEXT
The Jaguars will be back in action on Sunday afternoon for a doubleheader against Alcorn State for Game 2 & 3 of the weekend series. First pitch is slated for Noon.
