HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southern and UAPB was canceled on Saturday due to inclement weather and moved to a double header on Sunday afternoon. Southern started slow in both games dropping game two 14-5 and game 3 8-5.
- UAPB had a couple big innings early to hold on to a 8-5 lead to close out the series.
- Davis pitched all two innings seeing 10 batters giving up five runs off four hits.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Southern finished the night with three hits and UAPB finished the night with nine hits.
- Southern finished the game with onle one error, while Arkansas Pine Bluff finished the game with one error.
- Southern left six runners on base, while UAPB left two.
- Southern struck out seven times and Arkansas Pine Bluff struck three times.
- Jaylen Armstrong picked up the Jags first run of the day off O'Neill Burgos ground out to the Lions short stop. Quincy Smith II, Jaylen Armstrong, O'Neill Burgos, Hunter Tabb and Caleb Tart scored one run each.
- Three different Jaguars batters recorded a hit. Rashard Grace, Burgos and Tart finish the day with one hit each.
UP NEXT
The Jaguars will be back in action this weekend as they take on western division foe Prairie View A&M University for a three game series. Friday night at 6 PM, Saturday afternoon at 3 PM and Sunday afternoon at 1 PM. All three games will be streamed live on Jaguar Sports Network with the voice of Jaguar Athletics "Chris Powers".
