NEW ORLEANS – The Southern University's baseball team will travel to the University of New Orleans for a midweek contest on Wednesday against the Privateers at Maestri Field at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
 
Southern (4-7) is coming off the South Alabama Invitational in which they lost to Iowa, 20-8, Pepperdine, 0-16, and South Alabama, 8-3.
 
UNO (7-4) leads the overall series with Southern, 23-14, winning last season's only contest 5-4.
 
Jaylen Armstrong, Khyle Radcliffe and Hunter Tabb leads the Jaguars at the plate. Armstrong is batting .419 with a team leading four doubles, a triple and two home runs. Radcliffe is batting .400 with a team high nine RBIs and Tab is batting .289 with a double, a home run and seven RBIs.
 
Antoine Harris has been the midweek starter for Southern this season. Harris is 0-2 with five strikeouts and five walks in six innings. Southern has used a plethora of pitchers in relief in those two games with Perry Kyles appearing in both. Kyles has struck out six and walked only two in four innings of work.
 
UNO has won six straight heading into their contest with South Alabama tonight. Their last loss came against Jackson State on February 24. Most recently, the Privateers swept Brown in their weekend series.
 
Tyler Bischke, Kasten Furr and Tristan Moore are batting over .300 to lead UNO at the plate. Bischke has a team high .432 average, four doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs. Furr is batting .340 with four doubles and four RBIs. Moore is hitting .304 with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs.
 
The Privateers have used Jose Cabrera and Beau Blanchard in starting roles in their two midweek games. Cabrera is 0-1 with a 16.2 ERA in 3.1 innings, he has struck out three and walked five. Blanchard has appeared in four games with a 3.68 ERA with three strikeouts and three walks in 7.1 innings.
