BATON ROUGE, LA – Southern's baseball team returns home for the first time in a month when they take on Alcorn State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference series on March 31-April 2 at Lee-Hines Stadium.
 
All three games will be streamed on Jaguar Sports Network with Friday's matchup beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday's game will start at 3 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch will be at 1 p.m.
 
Southern (7-16, 3-3) took two from Texas Southern last weekend and fell to McNeese State in the midweek matchup.
 
Alcorn (2-18, 0-6) broke its 14-game losing streak when the Braves defeated Southeastern Baptist 3-2 on Tuesday.
 
The Jaguars have won 11 straight against Alcorn by a combined score of 128-33.
 
Jaylen Armstrong, who leads the Jaguar attack at the plate, has a base hit in five straight games and has reached base safely in 11 straight. Armstrong, who has been held hitless in only two games this season, is hitting .349 on the season with four doubles, a triple, two homes runs, 13 RBI and 19 stolen bases. Khyle Radcliffe is hitting .284 with four doubles and 16 RBI.
 
Jalon Long has solidified himself as the Friday night starter for the Jaguars. Long is 1-1 with 38 strikeouts and 19 walks in 27.2 innings. Nicholas Wilson has come on strong in his seven appearances at 1-2 with 28 strikeouts and 15 walks in 28.2 innings.
 
Alcorn is led by Dillon Crowell and Jaylon Lucky at the plate. Crowell is hitting .316 with five doubles and four RBI. Lucky has a .314 average with three doubles and six RBI. Garrett Palladino has a team high 18 RBI for the Braves.
 
The Braves are led by Kewan Braziel, Jermel Ford and Austin Delgado on the mound. Braziel is 0-5 on the year with a 6.44 ERA while striking out 34 and walking 20. Ford is 0-2 with a 12.43 ERA and has struck out 20 while walking 22. Delgado is 0-4 with a 10.12 ERA and has struck out 16 while giving 22 free bases.
