Baseball Travels to McNeese on Tuesday

LAKE Charles, LA The Southern University's baseball team travels to take on McNeese State in a midweek game on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Joe Miller Ballpark. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
Southern (7-15, 3-3) is coming off a weekend series win against Texas Southern. The Jaguars defeated TSU 11-9 on Friday and 13-2 on Sunday to take the series. Texas Southern took game two 11-3.
 
McNeese (16-8, 1-2) is coming off a series loss to Nicholls in which the Cowboys won the first game 8-3 but lost the final two 8-6 and 8-5. McNeese won the previous meeting this season 10-3 at Lee Hines Stadium.
 
The Jaguars are led at the plate by Jaylen Armstrong is batting .354 with a team leading four doubles and has also contributed 13 RBI with two home runs. Khyle Radcliffe has a .284 batting average with 16 RBI, and four doubles, he is followed by Hunter Tabb at .237 with 14 RBI. O'Neill Burgos has a team high 21 RBI.
 
Antoine Harris has been the weekday starter for majority of the season and is 0-3 with eight strikeouts and 11 walks. Daren Smith got the nod in last week's game against Houston. Smith is 1-2 with seven strikeouts and five walks.
 
McNeese is led offensively by Josh Leslie with a .330 average with a team leading 13 doubles, five home runs and 35 RBI on the year. Brad Burckel is hitting .302 with five doubles and 15 RBI for the Cowboys.
 
Burrell Jones and Kainin Morrow have split time as the midweek starters. Jones is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA and has struck out 18 while walking nine batters. Marrow is 2-1 with a 3.81 ERA in 26 innings striking out 23 and walking 23.
