HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Southern scored their first runs in the first inning and four runs in the sixth inning.
  • Iowa scored eight runs in the third and eighth inning.
  • Long pitched three innings seeing sixteen batters giving up ten runs.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Southern finished the night with ten hits and Iowa finished the night with fourteen hits.
  • Southern finished the game with only three errors, while Iowa State finished the game with two errors.
  • Southern left eleven runners on base, while Iowa left eight.
  • Southern struck out seven times, while Iowa State struck out ten times.
  • Jaylen Armstrong picked up the Jags first run of the day off a double to the right field wall by O'Neill Burgos. Khyle Radcliffe and Armstrong scored two run each, while Jah'li Hendricks, Quincy Smith II, Hunter Tabb and Burgos scored one run each.
