HOW IT HAPPENED

• Southern battled back to force extra innings after giving up three early runs in the first five innings.
• GSU scored seven runs in the first six innings before scoring the winning run in the twelfth inning. 
• Burkett II pitched four innings seeing 14 batters and only giving up one run.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Both Southern and Grambling finished the night with eleven hits.
• Southern finished the game with only one error, while Grambling finished the game with two errors.
• Southern left twelve runners on base, while GSU left nine.
• Southern struck out eleven times, while Grambling struck fourteen times each.
• Jaylen Armstrong picked up the Jags first run of the day off a single to the center field wall by O'Neill Burgos. Khyle Radcliffe, Jaylen Armstrong, JJ Rollon, Jah'li Hendricks, Nathaniel Lai  and Justin Wiley scored one run each.
• Eight different Jaguars batters recorded a hit. Hunter Tabb, Armstrong and Radcliffe led SU with two hits, while Burgos, Nava Sanchez, Hendricks, Rollon and Wiley finished the day with one run each.
