Southern Drops A Close One To Florida A&M

 HOW IT HAPPENED INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Jaguars went 17-of-56 shooting from the field (30.4 percent) and 8-of-21 from 3PT (38.1 percent).
- SU was led by Aleighyah Fontenot (7-11 FG, 5-8 3PT) finished with a season-high 19 points on the day. 
-  Diamond Hunter  (3-9 Ft, 3-8 3PT) added 10 points off 22 minutes of play and Taylor Williams (2-10 FG, 3-4 FT) chipped in seven points on the day for the Jags.
- Eight Jaguars scored in the contest.
- FAMU shot 19-of-50 from the field (38.0 percent) and 5-of-14 from 3PT (35.7 percent). 
- Southern pulled down 33 rebounds, including 20 on the defensive side of the glass.
- The Lady Rattlers registered 42 rebounds, with 23 coming on the defensive end. 
- The Jaguars also went 8-for-18 from the free-throw line.
- The Lady Rattlers sank 14-of-23 from the charity stripe.
- Southern University finished the night with eight steals and thirteen assists. Tyeniesha Metcalf and Chloe Fleming led the Jags with four assists on the night.
- Florida A&M University came away with nine steals and fourteen assists.

UP NEXT
Southern will be back in action on Thursday and Saturday to close out the 2022-2023 regular season. Thursday night the Jags will take on Alabama State at 5:30 PM and Saturday afternoon against Alabama A&M at 3 PM for Senior Night. Both games will be streamed live on Jaguar Sports Network.
