HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southern jumps out to a 2-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
- O'Neill Burgos stepped to the plate with bases loaded and took his second pitch over the left field wall for a Grand Slam and his first home run of the season.
- Smith picks up his first win of the season pitching four innings and only giving up two hits on the night.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Southern finished the night with twelve hits and Texas Southern finished the night with three hits.
- Southern finished with one error and Texas Southern finished the day with two errors.
- Southern left eight runners on base, while Texas Southern left seven.
- Southern struck out six times, while Texas Southern struck out eight times.
- Armstrong picked up the Jags first run of the day off Burgos flied out to right field. Armstrong led the Jaguars with three runs on the day while Jah'li Hendricks, Khyle Radcliffe and Hunter Tabb scored two runs each. Justin Wiley and Burgos scored one run each.
