HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southern jumped out and took a 5-0 lead over the Tigers before giving up four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
- Southern went scoreless in the final five inning but show very impressive defense.
- Drew Lasseigne closed out the game striking out Jackson State final two batters with bases loaded to pick up his first save of the day.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Southern and Jackson State finished the night with eight hits each.
- Jackson State committed three errors.
- Southern left eleven runners on base, while Jackson State left nine.
- Southern struck out nine times, while Jackson State struck out twelve times.
- Khyle Radcliffe picked up the Jags first run of the season off Nathaniel Lai double to right field. Jaylen Armstrong, O'Neill Burgos, JJ Rollon and Justin Wiley joined Radcliffe with one run each.
- Seven different Jaguars batters recorded a hit. Armstrong led SU with two hits.

The Jaguars will be back in action on Saturday afternoon for day two of the Cactus Jack HBCU Classic as they take on Grambling State at 3 PM.
