PINE BLUFF, ARK -- Southern University women's basketball team falls to 4-2 in conference play after a tough loss on the road at University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday afternoon. Final score was 53-70.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Jaguars went 20-of-60 shooting from the field (33.3 percent) and 3-of-13 from 3PT (23.1 percent).
- SU was led by
Genovea Johnson (5-16 FG, 4-5 FT) with 14 points.
- Sirviva Legions ( 5-9 FG, 2-7 FT) finished with a season-high 12 points and Metcalf (3-5 FG, 3-4 FT) chipped in 9 points on the day.
- Eight Jaguars scored in the contest
- UAPB shot 26-of-48 from the field (54.2 percent) and 2-of-8 from 3PT (25.0 percent).
- Southern pulled down 30 rebounds, including 18 on the defensive side of the glass.
- The Golden Lions registered 36 rebounds, with 28 coming on the defensive end.
- The Jaguars also went a season high 10-for-20 from the free-throw line.
- The Golden Lions sank 16-of-26 from the charity stripe.
- Southern University finished the night with ten steals and nine assists.
- University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff came away with three steals and twenty-three assists.
