Soccer Drops Close Contest to Southeastern, 3-2

HAMMOND, La. – A goal in the 88th minute gave Southeastern (2-1) a 3-2 victory over Southern (1-4-1) Friday night inside Strawberry Stadium.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Southern had multiple opportunities to score in the first half. The Lady Jaguars out shot SLU 7-4.
  • Southeastern got on the board first in the 10th minute.
  • Jackson equalized the game in the 41st minute. The teams went into half tied 1-1.
  • Southern would take the lead eight and half minutes into the second half when Armstrong found the back of the net.
  • SLU evened the game 12 minutes later.
  • Both teams would fight for the lead before Southeastern scored the game winner with less than three minutes to go.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Southeastern held a small advantage in shots, 13-10
  • Southern had four shots on goal compared to five by SLU
  • Both teams finished the game with two saves.
