The Jaguars picked up five runs off eight hits on the day. In the second inning Gustavo Nava Sanchez scored the Jags first run off a fielder's choice by Caleb Tart. In the fourth inning Tart hit a line drive up the middle of the field to send Taj Porter home to give SU their second run of the day. Jaylen Armstrong singled through left field to send Hunter Tabb racing across home plate to give the Jaguars their third run of the day. Porter hits a single right center to send O'Neill Burgos home to pull the Jaguars within three runs, 7-4. In the seventh inning Michael Latulas gets his first home-run of the season, nailing a fast ball over the center field wall to give the Jags their fifth and final run of the day.

Christian Davis picks up his fourth loss of the season. The Jaguars scoring came from Burgos, Latulas, Nava Sanchez, Porter and Tabb with one run each. 

SU is 15-27, 12-9 SWAC on the season.

Southern will be back in action this weekend for a SWAC Western Division matchup against University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff for a three-game weekend series starting Friday night inside Lee-Hines Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6 PM.
