BATON ROUGE, LA-- Southerns'
Tyeniesha Metcalf had a career-high 18 points as the Jaguars cruise to a seven-point victory to remain in second place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Final score was 65-58 inside F. G. Clark Activity Center on the campus of Southern University.
SU never trailed in the contest out rebounding the Lady Bulldogs 40-34.
Metcalf led the Jaguars with 18 points, four rebounds and one assists. Amani Mcwain finished the night with 11 points and eight rebounds. Genovea Johnson added nine points and five rebounds. Nakia Kincey chipped in eight points, three rebounds and two steals.

The Lady Jaguars defense forced the Lady Bulldogs to 15 turnovers, picking up 11 points off turnovers. SU played 12 players with 8 landing in the scoring column. Southern shot 40 percent for the game (27-68) and 25 percent from behind the arc (3-12). SU shot 42 percent from the charity stripe finishing (8-19).
Dariauna Lewis led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points and eight rebounds. Jada Clowers finished the night with 12 points and four rebounds.

Southern return to action on Monday night as the take on Alabama State University Lady Hornets inside F. G. Clark Activity Center. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 PM.
