NORMAN, OK -- Southerns' fast start fizzled out in the second half falling to #24 Oklahoma to close out non-conference play inside Lloyd Noble Center on the campus of Oklahoma University. Final score was 76-50.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Jaguars battled back-and-forth with the Sooners in the first quarter only trailing by one-point at the end of the first quarter, 20-19.
- Genovea Johnson and Tyeniesha Metcalf led the Jags with four points each in the first quarter.
- Johnson makes a 14-foot jumper with 50 seconds left in the second quarter to pull the Jags within five points at the end of the half. The Sooners takes a 5-point lead into the half, 33-25.
- Oklahoma's defensive pressure only allowed the Jaguars to score 12 points in the third quarter as the #24 team in the country, pulled farther away for a 56-40 lead at the end of the three.
- The Sooners outscored the Jaguars 20-10 in the fourth quarter to seal the 76-50 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Jaguars went 19-of-65 shooting from the field (29.0 percent) and 4-of-19 from 3PT (21.0 percent).
- SU was led by Johnson (4-9 FG, 3-4 FT) who finished with 11 points and Amani Mcwain (3-13 FG, 3-9 3PT) added 9 points.
- Raven White (3-7 FG, 2-4 FT) chipped in eight points on the day for the Jaguars.
- Nine Jaguars scored in the contest
- Oklahoma shot 29-of-59 from the field (49.0 percent) and 5-of-22 from 3PT (23.2 percent).
- Southern pulled down 26 rebounds, including 15 on the defensive side of the glass.
- Oklahoma registered 54 rebounds, with 38 coming on the defensive end.
- The Jaguars also went 8-for-14 from the free-throw line.
- The Shockers sank 13-of-18 from the charity stripe.
- Southern University finished the night with nine steals and five assists.
- Oklahioma University came away with five steals and nineteen assists.

Southern will be back in action on Monday, January 2nd as they head to Houston, TX to take on the Tigers from Texas Southern as Southwestern Athletic Conference play starts. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 PM.
