PRAIRIE VIEW, TX --  The Jaguars defense dominated the Panthers in the second half, giving the Jaguars the ball in great field positioning allowing Besean McCray to dismantle Prairie View defense with both his legs and arm.

The Jaguars racked up 462 yards of total offense, off 58 plays. Including 275 through the air and 187 on the ground. SU's defense picked up its fifth defensive touchdown on the season, off Jordan Carter 58-yard pick six with 6:03 left in the ball game. 

The Panthers striked first with a 35-yard field goal on the opening drive of the contest, then McCray gave SU an early 7-3 lead off a 10-yard QB scramble. McCray finished the night with 360 yards of total offense and four touchdowns. Two on the ground and two through the air. August Pitre added 45-yards and two touchdowns for the Jaguars.  

The Jaguars defense completely disrupted the Panthers offense in the second half, led by Jalan Campbell with 10 tackles, freshman sensation Ckelby Givens added seven tackles, two of them where for a 4-yard loss and a sack. Corione Harris chipped in seven tackles .5 tackles for loss and a pass breakup.

Southern will host the Alcorn State Braves on Saturday, October 15th inside A.W. Mumford Stadium & Pete Richardson Field Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
