BATON ROUGE, LA. – The Southern University Lady Jaguars (2-3-1) came away with a 1-1 tie against LSU-Shreveport (1-2-2) Friday afternoon at Jaguar Park.
The Lady Jaguars controlled the ball most of the game with 35 shots compared to seven by the Pilots. Southern had 14 different players take a shot.
Aniya Clark and
Brekel Tibbs lead the way with six shots a piece.
The Pilots took the lead in the 15
th minute when Dawniella Torres found the back of the net off a pass from Kirsten Nolan
The Lady Jags put pressure on the LSU-S for most of the first half but had difficulty finding the back of the net. That was until the 42
nd minute when
Kaitlyn Hale took a cross from
Amina Booker and found the top right corner of the net.
The second half found Southern continue to take shots but couldn't connect. The Lady Jaguars outshot the Pilots 24-4 in the second half and the two overtimes.
Chimoa Eriken kept the game tied with great saves in overtime. She played the whole 110 minuets and had four saves.
The final overtime saw the Lady Jags keep the pressure on with six shots and three corners but nothing found the back of the net.

The Lady Jaguars will be back in action on Sunday, September 12
th, when they take on University of Louisiana at Monroe in Jaguar Park at 1:00 pm.
