MADISON, AL. -- For the second straight game, Southern found itself in a pitching duel but lost a heartbreaker in the bottom of the ninth inning 2-1 to Prairie View A&M in the second round of the 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament Thursday night at Toyota Field in Madison, Alabama.
Prairie View took advantage of a Southern error to grab a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth.
The Jaguars came right back in the top of the sixth to tie the score.
Colton Frank beat out an infield single and moved to second when
Isaiah Adams was hit by a pitch.
Jovante Dorris bunt moved the runners to third and second base.
Judah Wilbur's sacrifice fly to right field allowed Frank to score from third.
PV scored in the bottom of the ninth inning on a walk off single taking the game 2-1.
Jaguars starter
Jerome Bohannon II pitched 5-2/3 innings striking out nine while issuing two walks. He gave up five hits and an unearned run.
Dimitri Frank (3-1) was credited with the loss as he pitched 2-2/3 innings striking out one batter, he gave up three hits and one run

Southern will face Alcorn State tomorrow at 12:00pm in a elimination game at Toyota Field in Madison, Alabama. Winner will face Prairie View at 6:00 pm on Friday night.
