BIRMINGHAM, AL. --  Southern University corner back Shykee Thomas earned weekly Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) award after the Jaguars victory over Texas Southern.

Thomas was named the SWAC Specialist Player of the Week after he had 130 kick return yards on three kickoff returns and one touchdown during Southern's 51-23 win over Texas Southern. He had an electrifying 98-yard kick return that helped give Southern a 23-14 lead in the second quarter of the game.

UP NEXT
Southern will be off this weekend, but will return on Saturday, April 3, 2021 when the Jaguars travel to Jackson State University. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm.
