Baton Rouge, LA. -- The Southern University Volleyball team defeated Grambling State University in a thrilling conference matchup Monday evening at Clifford Seymour Gymnasium.
The Jaguars (1-1, 1-1 SWAC), had a rough opener Sunday evening against UAPB, returned Monday with newfound energy that carried them over the Tigers (0-3, 0-2 SWAC) in four sets.
Jada Carter led the team with 18 kills and had one ace.
Princess Stark finished with 35 assists, three blocks and three aces.
Kennedy Joubert finished with 23 digs while
Imani Litz added 10 digs and three aces. Both
Xaria Taylor and
Delaine Fulton also finished with three blocks to help the Lady Jaguars get the victory. SU finished with a total of 46 kills, 42 assists, 10 aces and eight blocks. The Jaguars topped GSU (21-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23) to take the match and their first conference win.

The Lady Jaguars will be back in action at home on Sunday, February 7 against the Tigers of Jackson State University. First serve is set for 1:00 pm.
