Southern Drops a Heart Breaker to Alabama A&M

PRAIRIE VIEW, TX -- The Lady Jaguars season came to an end as they fall to the Lady Bulldogs 1-0 in the first round of the Southwestern Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, at the Prarie View Soccer Complex.

Senior Goalie, Chioma Eriken played the game of her life as she kept the Jags in the game to force two overtimes recording eleven saves in 103-mintes of play. Kaitlyn Hale, Surya Nero, Cordney Armstrong and Amya Webb finished the nigh with two shots each with all shots on goal. Alayla Jackson, Ashante' Gatlin, Miamour Mesa, Amina Booker and Aniya Clark added one shot each.

In total the Lady Jaguars had a total of 13 shots compared the16 by the Ladies Bulldogs. Overall, 9 different Southern players had a shot in the game.

Alabama A&M did find the back of the net in 103rd minute to get the victory. Makayla Rushing and Jameela Barrett led the Lady Bulldogs with three shots each.
