PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS -- Southern women's soccer team picked up their first conference win of the season by defeating Arkansas-Pine Bluff 2-1 on the road Friday afternoon.
Southern scored early in the first half off a
Amya Webb goal off an assist from Kaitlyn Hale at the twenty-four minute mark of the game.
In the second half, the Lady Jaguars picked up right where they left off battling back-and-forth with the Lady Lions until
Giftee Tor found the right corner of the goal to give the SU the lead in the game with only five minutes remaining in the game.
The Lady Jags were able to score two runs off eleven shots with three on goal led by
Alyssa Terry with three shots, Tor had two shots with both on goal, Jada Williams with two shots, Webb had one shot on goal, Azaria Jackson with one shot, Krystal Elie with one shot and Victoria Thomas finished the day with one shot. Goalie, Chioma Eriken finished with two saves in 90-minutes of play.
Halley Wheeler led the Lady Lions with three shots with one on goal in 83-minutes of play. Wheeler picked up UAPB only goal of the day.

The Lady Jaguars will be back in action on Sunday, October 3rd, when they travel to Grambling State University at 1:00 pm at GSU SOCCER COMPLEX.
