BATON ROUGE, LA. -- The Southern University Men's & Women's track and field team had a strong showing Friday afternoon, led by
Nicholas Scott at the Louisiana Invitational at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse. Three Jaguars came away as SWAC leaders, and Scott's performance in the 800 meter run ranks him 19th in the country.
"We had solid performances today. On our Men's team Nick Scott ran a great race in the 800m for the win with a time of 1:53.04. On our Women's side
Alexandria McCoy weight throw 16.46m 54-00 ft with a 4th place finish and freshman

Final Results - Women
Raelynn Price finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.07. Sydney Minor and Ariana Taylor finished fifth and sixth in the 800 meter run with times of 2:29.65 and 2:36.08. Southern 4x400 Meter relay comprised of
Jada Childers, Kennedy Pedro, Anndrela Woods and Qymeisha Mayhew finished second with a time 4:00.56 seconds. That time trims six seconds off their season opening time and is now a personal best. Destiny Mitchell finished tied for second in the high jump with a jump of 1.60m (5'03") along with Jordan Landry finishing fourth in the high jump wit a jump of 1.55m (5'01"). Anndrela Woods finish fifth in the long jump with a jump of 5.37m (17'07.50) along with Katrina Anderson rounding out the eight spot to for the Jaguars with a jump of 5.09m (16'08.00). Da'On Acosta finished fifth in the triple jump, with a jump of 11.02m (36'02). Logan Lewis finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 12.61m (41'04). Alexandria McCoy finished fourth in the women weight throw with a throw of 16.46m (54'00).

Heisman Woods finished fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 53.07. Nicholas Scott wins the 800m run with a time of 1:52.08. That time ranked him 19th in the country. Daniel Harrold finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.25. Southern's 4x400 meter relay team comprised of

Simeon Coleman finished third overall with a time 3:32.85 seconds.
Ja'Carrius Demmerritte finished second overall in the long jump, with a jump of 6.79 meters and he finished third in the triple jump, with a jump of 12.80 meters.
Kolby Matthews finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 12.20 meters.
