BATON ROUGE, LA – A total of 25 Southern University student-athletes and support staff are slated to earn their degrees following the conclusion of the spring semester. The Southern University Department of Athletics is proud to recognize current and former student-athletes, representing over nine sports. Spring campus graduation ceremonies were originally scheduled for Friday, May 15th at 10:00 AM at the F. G. Clark Activity Center but do to Covid-19 Spring Commencement has been postponed to August 7th.
"I'm very proud of our Spring 2020 graduates," said SU Director of Athletics, Roman Banks. "With everything that is going on with the Covid-19 they showed a lot of focus, grit and determination as everything was moved to online learning through the semester and the cancellation of winter and spring sports, they were still able to complete their coursework and most importantly finish under the circumstances. All the student-athletes have represented not only themselves with class and dignity but to Southern University.
