BATON ROUGE, LA. -- The Defending SWAC Western Division Champions hit the ground running looking for new talent to add to their roster on National Signing Day. The Jaguars are retooling to defend the Bluff in the 2020 season.
Southern received signatures from seven players, all seven are from high school and will be heading to the Bluff after graduation. "We pride ourselves in developing high school kids," Southern Head Coach
Dawson Odums said talking to the local media today about the Jaguars 2020 recruiting class.
In December the Jaguars signed nine players, six of which are Junior College products, during the early signing period. The 2020 signing class totals 16 players from Texas to Florida. The Jaguars signed six from the state of Louisiana, Six from the state of Florida, three for the state of Mississippi and one from the state of Texas.

SU Football will take the field on April 1, 2020 to start Spring Training closing out on April 25, 2020 with the Spring football game.
The Jaguars will kick off the 2020 season on September 5th in Detroit, Michigan against Tennessee State and will close out the season with the Grand Daddy of them all in the Crescent City in the 47th Annual Bayou Classic against in-state rival Grambling State Tigers.
