BATON ROUGE, LA. -- Southern sweeps Mississippi Valley on the season in a blowout fashion led by junior guard Alyric Scott 71-40 in front of 3,126 fans at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

Scott led all scorers with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Raven White and Amani Mcwain finished the night with 11 points a piece. White pulled down a game-high seven rebounds and McWain finished with six rebounds. Kayla Watson added 10 points and two assists in 19 minutes of play. Caitlin Davis finished the night with a game-high six assists.

The Jaguars defense forced the Lady Devilettes to 27 turnovers picking up 33 points off the turnovers. SU played 10 players with 9 landing in the scoring column. Southern shot 46 percent for the game (28-61) and 29 percent from behind the arc (5-17). SU shot 67 percent from the charity stripe finishing (10-15).

The Lady Jaguars will travel to Alabama to take on Alabama State and Alabama A&M. Saturday the Jags will make their first stop at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome in Montgomery, Al, tip-off is set for 3 PM and close out the Alabama swing Monday night in Huntsville, Al at the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium, tip-off is set for 5:30 PM.
