BATON ROUGE, LA -- Southern out scores Alabama A&M 19-9 in the fourth quarter to hold off the Bulldogs 55-46 to win their fourth straight SWAC game on Monday night at the F. G. Clark Activity Center.
Senior guard
Jaden Towner led the Jaguars with 14 points and four rebounds. Senior
Brittany Rose added 11 points.
Caitlin Davis chipped in eight points in a team-high thirty-one minutes of play.
Taneara Moore finished the night with seven points and
Raven White added another six points in twenty-one minutes of play. Freshman guard
Genovea Johnson had a team-high five rebounds off the bench.
The Jaguars defense forced the Lady Bulldogs to 20 turnovers picking up 19 points off the turnovers. SU played all twelve players with eight landing in the scoring column. Southern shot 37 percent for the game (19-52) and 33 percent from behind the arc (3-9). SU shot 67 percent from the charity stripe finishing (14-21).
Southern's record is 8-11, 6-2 SWAC
