BATON ROUGE, LA. -- Southern closes out the first round of SWAC play as they blew past Alcorn State 74-57 to win their fifth straight SWAC game. The Lady Jaguars took a 21-7 lead and never looked back on Legends Night at the F. G. Clark Activity Center on Saturday afternoon.

Raven White had a career night with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Amani McWain added 14 points and five rebounds in twenty minutes of play off the bench.
Jaden Towner added 13 points and five rebounds and
Brittany Rose chipped in 11 points along with three assists for the Lady Jaguars.
The Jaguars defense forced the Lady Braves to 19 turnovers picking up 13 points off the turnovers. SU played all 12 players with eight landing in the scoring column. Southern shot 46 percent for the game (23-50) and 29 percent from behind the arc (4-14). SU shot 72 percent from the charity stripe finishing (24-33).

Southern travels to North Louisiana to take on the Grambling State Tigers on Saturday February 8th at 3 PM at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
