BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Southern University Men's and Women's track and field team competed in their third indoor meet of the 2020 season on Sunday at the KMS Invitational at the CroosPlex Indoor Track. 

Both the men's and women's teams had strong performances, finishing the meet with six total personal records. This includes Anndrela Woods, Nia Williams, Alexandria McCoy, A'Neseya Dunn, Daniel Harrold, and Derreck Garner. 

Anndrela Woods took first in the women's long jump, with a jump of 5.62 meters (18'05'). 

Nia Williams finished first in the 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.68. 

Terralicia Mercadel took second in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 58.09.

The women's 4x200 meter relay finished first, with a time of 1:44.97. 

The women's 4x400 meter relay wrapped up Sunday's meet by taking first, with a time of 3:53.63. 

Daniel Harrold finished third in the 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.23.

Jeremy Bass took sixth in the men's weight throw, with a throw of 15.81 meters (51'10"). 

"The team is stepping up every week with better performances, it's always great to see our student-athletes get better" Head coach Teremine White said.

The track and field team will travel back to the University of Houston on Saturday, February 1 for the Houston G5 and Super 22 Invitational.
