HOUSTON, TX - The Southern University Men's and Women's track and field team finished their second meet Friday evening at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational at the University of Houston.
Junior, Alexandria McCoy took fourth in the women's weight throw with a throw of 15.59 meters (51'01"). McCoy took fifth last year at the Southwestern Conference meet with a throw of 15.83 meters (51'11"). McCoy also competed in the shot put at today's meet and placed seventh.
Senior, Nia Williams finished seventh in the 60-meter dash out of 21 competitors with a time of 7.84.
Sophomore, Nicholas Scott took fourth in the 800-meter run with a time 1:58.63.
Senior, Jeremy Bass placed fourth in the men's weight throw with a throw of 16.32 meters (53'06"). Bass finished third at the 2019 SWAC Conference Championship with a throw of 16.21 meters (53'2").

The track and field team will travel next weekend to Birmingham, AL. The meet will be a the Birmingham Cross Plex, Sunday January 26.
