Baton Rouge, LA. -- The Southern Lady Jaguars fell short Monday afternoon as the Tigers of Jackson State defeated Southern 72-51 at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
Jaden Towner shot a perfect 2-for-2 from the charity stripe finishing the day with 10 points off the bench for the Jaguars. Freshman
Genovea Johnson played a season-high twenty-two minutes, added 10 points and a team-high five rebounds. Point guard
Chloe Fleming chipped in eight points, two assists and a steal in nineteen minutes of play.
SU went into the locker room trailing, 30-26. Southern shot 24 percent for the game (15-for-63) and 15 percent from three-point range (3-20). The Jaguars shot 90 percent from the free-throw line (18-20). Southern turned over Jackson State 19 times picking up 12 points.
