Pine Bluff, AR -- The Lady Jaguars jumped out to a fast start in the first half and never took their foot off the gas, as they go on to dominate the Lady Lions 70-43 at the H.O. Clemmons Arena on the campus of the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Sophomore guard Amani McWain led all scorers with 13 points and four rebounds. Freshman guard
Chloe Fleming added 10 points and a game-high five assists, both a career-high. Senior
Jaden Towner and Junior
Kayla Watson both finished the night with nine points each. Towner pulled down a game-high seven rebounds. Sophomore forward
Taneara Moore chipped in eight points in twenty-five minutes of play.
Alyric Scott added seven points and five rebounds all in twenty-seven minutes of play.
Ten out of eleven Jaguars that played in the contest, landed in the scoring column. SU went into the half leading UAPB 33-15 capping off a 14-6 second quarter, holding the Lady Lions scoreless the last five minutes of the half. The Jaguars shot 44 percent for the game (28-64) and 29 percent from behind the arc (5-17). SU shot 53 percent from the charity stripe (9-17).
