BATON ROUGE, LA -- Southern Lady Jaguars picked up their second conference win of the season on Alumni night as they dominated Grambling State 81-57 at the F. G. Clark Activity Center on Saturday afternoon.
Alyric Scott led the Lady Jaguars with 21 points and a team-high four assists in twenty-three minutes of play.
Jaden Towner had the hot hand in the first half shooting perfect from the behind the arc 3-of-3 and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. Towner finished the night with 19 points off the bench.
Brittany Rose added 10 points and
Taneara Moore finished the night with a game-high 6 rebounds and eight points for Southern (4-10, 2-1 SWAC)
The Lady Jaguars had nine out of eleven players in the scoring column with three scoring in double figures. SU went into halftime leading 44-29. The Lady Jaguars shot a whopping 60 percent for the game (29-for-48) and 46 percent from three-point range (7-15). The Jaguars shot 70 percent from the free-throw line (16-23). Southern lead by as many as 29 points in the 4th quarter and turned over Grambling 14 times picking up 10 points off turnovers.
