FORT WORTH, Tx - The Southern Univerity track and field team continued their outdoor season Saturday, March 9 at the second annual Jett Relays in Fort Worth, Texas at Herman-Clark Stadium.

Sophomore
Jazmine Young took first place in the Javelin throw with a throw of 33.87 meters (111'). Young tore her ACL in her last high school throw at Hahnville high school, which prevented her from competing in her first year of college track. Saturday's throw marks her first throw since her injury.
The women's Distance Medley Relay finished first with a time of 13:16.36. Freshman
Sydney Minor ran the 1200-meter run, Fresham
Qymeisha Mayhew ran the 400-meter dash, Jada ran the 800-meter run, and Senior Danea Colston brought it home with the 1600-meter run.
Charvares Wilson recorded his second first place win in the shot put Saturday with a throw of 15.11 meters. Wilson is now second on the SWAC outdoor performance list.
Junior
Jeremy Bass took third in the shot put with a throw of 14.88 meters. Bass is sitting fourth on the SWAC outdoor performance list.
The Jaguars will be closer to home in the upcoming weekend as they travel to The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The meet will be held over the course of two days including Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16.
