BATON ROUGE, LA. -- As the Jaguars prepare for the 2019 SWAC Championship Game. The Conference SID's and Head Coaches voted seven Jaguar players to the 2019 SWAC All-Conference Team.
Senior guard Jerimiah Abby was named 1st Team All-SWAC. Abby a four-year starter for the Jaguars prides himself in being a team captain and leader on the offensive side of the ball.
Senior tackle Jodeci Harris and redshirt Junior running back Devon Benn were named 2nd Team All-SWAC. Harris was a pre-season selection this year and Benn is second on the team in rushing with 810 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Jaguars defense had four players selected on 2nd Team All-SWAC Conference led by Senior linebacker Calvin Lunkins. Also Senior defensive end Joe Davis along with sophomore defensive end Jordan Lewis and redshirt sophomore cornerback Tamaurice Smith. Lunkins leads the team in tackles with 77, 5 QB hurries, 1.5 tackles for a loss of 27 yards and a pass break-up. Lunkins is the heartbeat of the Jaguars defense. Davis is fifth on the team in tackles with 37, nine tackles for a loss of 53 yards, five sacks for a loss of 50 yards, one interception and 2 QB hurries. Lewis leads the team in sacks with 7 for a loss of 66 yards, two forced fumbles, 25 tackles, one interception for a 95-yard touchdown and a fumble that was ran 74 yards for a score. Smith leads the team in interceptions with four, six pass break-ups, one QB hurry, and 26 tackles.

The Jaguars will travel to Lorman, MS for the second straight year to face off with the Alcorn Braves for the Cricket Wireless SWAC Football Championship. The winner will head to the Celebration Bowl in Atlanta, GA and will take on the MEAC Champion, North Carolina A&T. The SWAC Championship game will air live on ESPNU and will broadcast live on KQXL, 106.5 with Chris Powers. Kickoff is set for 3 PM on December 7th.
