MIAMI, FL. - Freshman Raven White and Chloe Flemming led the Jaguars with six points each as UNC Asheville defeated Southern 53-34 on the final day of the Miami Holiday Classic Saturday afternoon.
Brittany Rose chipped in five points for the Jaguars in 23 minutes of play. Jaden Towner and Taneara Moore finished the night with four points each. Moore led the Jaguars in rebounds with seven.
White was the only Jaguar named to the Miami Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team averaging seven points a game and 4 rebounds a game.
SU went into the locker room trailing, 23-17. SU shot 24 percent for the game (13-for-55) and eight percent from three-point range (1-13). The Jaguars shot 50 percent from free throw line (7-14). Southern turned over Rutgers seventeen times picking up ten points.
