A total of 162 days will have passed since Southern University wide receiver Devon Gales first arrived in Athens, Ga. for the Jaguars Sept. 25 road game at Georgia.
To accommodate the Gales homecoming festivities, Southern has changed the start time of Saturday's women's basketball game to a 2 p.m. tipoff. The men's basketball games will remain a 5 p.m. start time.
Gales, who has spent the past four months undergoing rigorous rehabilitation at Atlanta's Shepherd Center, is scheduled to arrive at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport from Atlanta at approximately 11 a.m. A welcoming party comprised of Southern University and athletic officials is scheduled to greet Gales and his parents upon their arrival.
Then, Gales will be reunited with his football teammates in a closed meeting in the A.W. Mumford Fieldhouse.
Finally, Gales will be honored during an on-court presentation after the women's basketball team salutes it 2016 senior class following the Prairie View A&M basketball game in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
At the conclusion of the Jaguars regular season finale, fans will have an opportunity to welcome Devon back to Southern and Baton Rouge during a meet-and-greet session.
