Hannah Kador scored a season high 25 points and Ashley Augerson added 15 points off the bench to lead the Southern Jaguars to a 64-53 win over in-state rival Grambling State at the FG Clark Activity Center.
Southern (12-9, 9-1 SWAC) used an early 10-0 run to jump out in front of the Lady Tigers, but GSU quickly fought back and made of a run of their own to take a 21-19 lead before Tiffany Foster and Ashley Augerson connected on free throws to give the Jaguars a 22-21 halftime lead.
The GSU Tigers jumped out quick in the second half and took an early advantage but Hannah Kador scored seven consecutive points for SU to push the Jags back out in front.
Southern U,'s Ashley Augerson made her return to the SU lineup after missing the last five games after undergoing nasal surgery. She along with Kador sparked a late 18-0 run that helped the Jaguars seal their seventh consecutive SWAC win, after losing to GSU in Grambling in January.
To go with her 25 points, Kador added seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Tiffany Foster added nine rebounds and Jamie Floyd added six rebounds, as did Laneisha Stephens off the SU bench.
For Grambling (10-11, 6-4 SWAC), Keniqua Wyche scored 14 points, while Secrett Anderson added 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Southern will face Jackson State on Monday night at 5:30 in the Mini-Dome.
