PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- Southern University's Freda Allen had a monster night, scoring a game-high 17 points and pulled down a season/game high 18 rebounds, as the Jaguars won their ninth straight SWAC game in route to a 72-49 drubbing of the Golden Lions of Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday night in Pine Bluff, Ark.

Southern U. (14-8, 11-1 SWAC) dominated from start to finish. The Jaguars took a 35-22 lead to halftime and never faced a serious threat from last-place UAPB (1-22, 1-11 SWAC).

Southern owned a 48-36 advantage in rebounds, and SU had 20 assists on its 26 field goals.

Freda Allen had her best game of the season with the 17 points and 18 boards. Allen also added five blocked shots, three assists and three steals. Hannah Kador chipped in 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals, while freshman Adrian Sanders had her best game as a Jaguars pumping in 13 points off the bench, added six assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Chigoziany Okwumabua scored 12 points and Laquisha Slaton added 10 for Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Southern will face the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devilettes at 5:30 pm on Monday night in Itta Bena, Miss.
