Southern's Myniya Smith Named Preseason All-American

Southern University offensive tackle, Myniya Smith, has been named to the I-AA.org preseason All-American 1st team. Smith has also been named preseason All-SWAC.

Smith, (6-6, 340, R-SR, New Orleans/West Jefferson HS), earned 1st team All-SWAC, 1st Team Sheridan Broadcasting Network All-America, 2nd Team Sports Network All-America, 2nd Team AP All-America honors in 2003 in helping lead the Southern University Jaguars to the 2003 SWAC Title and Black College National Championship.

The SU Jaguars open the season this Saturday night, at 7:00 P.M. at AW Mumford Stadium on the Southern University campus.

Although televised, the game will not be aired „live‰. The game will be aired on a tape delayed basis at a later date. Southern University Cox Sports Television games are available on affiliates throughout Louisiana and the southeastern United States. Cox Sports Television will air five Southern University Jaguars football games this season. Fans are advised to check local listings for network TV affiliates in their area.

You can also obtain Southern University Football game tickets by calling Ticketmaster or visiting the Ticketmaster website. Individual home game ticket prices are: $38, $35, $34, $32, $30 and $28.
