Tawanna Williams-White

Tawanna Williams-White, hailing from the Hub City of Lafayette, LA, is a multi-faceted, award winning trainer and former athlete. Leaning on the skills and instinct that propelled her to state dominance in athletic competition as a student athlete turned coach at LA Tech, Williams-White now prepares athletes to dominate in their respective sports in the SWAC.
 
No stranger to success, Coach Williams-White returned to her high school alma mater (Northside High) as the Strength & Conditioning Coach, leading the Track and Field program to eight state titles, four state runner-up titles-including training 36 State Champion competitors, 22 State Runner-up competitors, and guiding 29 student athletes to NCAA Division 1 Track and Field Scholarships throughout the nation. She was named All-Acadiana Coach of the Year for seven straight seasons.
 
During her tenure at LA Tech, Coach Williams-White was ranked Top 25 in the nation in Women’s Shot Put as well as the university’s Women’s Weight and Women’s Hammer record holder.
 
Coach Williams-White currently serves as the Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning at Southern University. She is responsible for player development for six Olympic sports: Men’s & Women’s Track and Field, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Volleyball and Men’s & Women’s Cross Country. Since joining the SWA in January 2022, she’s trained 15 All-SWAC athletes. 
 
Tawanna Williams-White is marred to Teremine White. Together, they have two beautiful children, Mail and Tameron. Coach Williams-White is a member of the Lafayette Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she serves as the Physical and Mental Health chair.
