Coach Immel is in his 9^th year of service to Jaguar Athletics. The Carmi, Illinois native first came to the the Bluff as a volunteer assistant in 2017. He was then hired on full time as Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning in 2018 and earned the promotion to Director of Strength & Conditioning in 2019.

Currently Coach Immel is directly responsible for all physical training aspects for Men’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Bowling, and Men’s & Women’s Golf. During his tenure with the Jags Coach Immel has worked with every sport on campus. 

Coach Immel’s training focus is to create Capable, Confident, and Resilient athletes. Under his 8 years of Direction Coach Immel has helped produce 57 All Conference performers, 5 SWAC Championships, 2 SWAC West titles, an FCS Defensive Player of the Year, and an NFL draft pick.

Immel brings a diverse coaching background having worked with 19 different sports ranging from Football to Sailing to Basketball to Equestrian. He has spent time coaching at Eastern Illinois University, The Citadel, and College of Charleston.

He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Kinesiology & Sports Studies with a concentration in Exercise Science from Eastern Illinois University.
