Dr. Christopher Bankhead is a Baton Rouge native who returned home to Louisiana and joined the Ochsner team after completing his fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA). He specializes in arthroscopic and open reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee. He has a special interest in athletic injuries from adolescents through older persons who exercise for fitness but focuses on improving his patients’ quality of life regardless of activity level.
