Hampton Hudson enters his first season back on the bluff as Assistant Coach with a strong foundation as both a former student-athlete and emerging leader in player development.

A Baton Rouge native, Hudson graduated from Runnels High School before continuing his baseball career at Southern University, where he competed as an outfielder and was a member of the 2019 SWAC Conference Championship team.

Hudson earned his undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Southern University and is currently finishing his master’s degree in Positive Coaching and Leadership at the University of Missouri. During his time at Missouri, he served as a Graduate Assistant, assisting with outfield development and hitting, gaining valuable experience at the collegiate level.

As Assistant Coach, Hudson oversees outfield instruction and strength and conditioning, bringing a player-centered approach that emphasizes growth, accountability, and confidence both on and off the field. Off the diamond, Hudson enjoys watching the NBA, playing video games, and spending time with his family, including his mother, Rose, and his sister, Theresa.
