2018 REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON: Named the MVFC's All-Newcomer Team... Played in nine contests and started five times... Had 22 total tackles, including 14 solo stops... Had three TFLs... Had a season-high seven tackles at Illinois State, including five solo stops... Had two TFLs against the Redbirds... Had five tackles at South Dakota State (two solos and three assists)... Had three solo stops at North Dakota State... Had a TFL against the Bison.... Was credited with two solo stops against Southern Illinois... Had two tackles against UNI and returned a fumble 45 yards against the Panthers... 20-of-22 tackles came in MVFC games... Earned his first letter.

2017 FRESHMAN SEASON: Redshirted.

High School: First-Team All-Ohio Division IV selection as a linebacker... First-team Division IV All-Northeast Inland District pick... Credited with 138 tackles, 14.5 TFLs, six sacks and six forced fumbles as a senior… Also played running back… Mooney finished the season 8-3 in 2016 advancing to the second round of the Region 13 playoffs… Team leader in tackles as a junior and senior... Coach was P.J. Fecko... Also played basketball and baseball... Was a member of National Honor Society.

Personal: Son of Anissa and Daryl Anderson... Has three brothers... Major is Business... Was the 2019-20 recipient of the Don Constantini Scholarship and the James and Velma Coates Memorial Scholarship.
