Personal: Dazya Mitchell was born to Melody Massy and Darrel Mitchell. Her birthday is August 31, 1999. She is from Galveston, Texas. She has five siblings (Aysha and Darrell Mitchell, Gabriel and Giselle Jackson, and Robert Luna). Her great grandpa was a church musician and opened several bars in Galveston.
Mitchell is majoring in Nursing.
Dazya chose Southern for its Strong Alumni base, it's a proud HBCU with lots of history and great sports team and organization, that she wanted to be apart of and participate in.
She is a 2 x State qualifier, multi-sport regional qualifier, Multi MVP, leadership award, Ricky Roa Scholar, Ashlynn Shoemaker Scholar, Ball high school PG Scholar.
