Skylar O'Bear.. born October 23, 1996 in Baton Rouge, La (home town, White Castle, La) ... daughter of Issac Jr. and Stephanie Major O'Bear... interesting family fact.. the fourth born I have two older Brothers and a twin sister. My parents both enjoyed sports, my dad played baseball, and my mom played volleyball, softball, cheered, and ran track. My mom still holds the record at White Castle High School in the 100, 400, and 800 meters and received First Team All-district honors. Coming from parents that are sports fanatics, my siblings and I were destined to play sports.
However, my oldest brother Chris didn't enjoy sports, but loved music so he started singing at the age of 4, and at the age of 7 started playing the drums and piano for various churches. Chris is now an Ordain Minister and release his first gospel cd in 2017. My brother Issac III played 4 years of baseball as a starting pitcher for Grambling State University, where he earned all deaf honors the last 3 years in his college career. Finishing his career at Grambling in 2017, by helping his team win the swab western division title and majoring in therapeutic recreation.
My twin sister (Shylar) and I both played softball and basketball since we were 4 years old, and volleyball and track since 5th grade. My sister and I have played together on the same team until we graduated high school. Together she and I helped our team advance to two top 28th appearances the first in our 8th grade year of high school, becoming he youngest players to start in a top 28th game at 13 years old. She and I have been named to the first team all district I'm every sport we participated in throughout our highschool careers. Shylar and I were also named to the All-metro, and All-parish teams. I was named to the first team All-State for basketball and district MVP my junior and senior year of high school. I am currently majoring in rehabilitation services.
I was valedictorian of my High School graduating class of 2015, president of my senior class, beta, and math club. I became a certified nursing assistant my junior year of high school, finished high school with 12 hours of college credits and I received serval academic awards ( tops, la gear up, don Chaney, greater Baton Rouge state fair, American legion post, chamber of commerce, iberville sheriff's office scholarship, etc.)
