BATON ROUGE, La. — After opening the season on the road, Southern volleyball will finally return to the H.W. Moody Intramural Sports Complex for its long-awaited home opener when the Lady Jaguars host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday at 11 a.m.
 
Southern's original home opener against Southeastern Louisiana was moved to Hammond following a power outage on Southern's campus.
 
Tuesday's matchup will mark the fifth meeting between the Lady Jaguars and Islanders and the fourth time the teams have met in Baton Rouge. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has won each of the previous four meetings.
 
Southern enters Tuesday's contest following three hard-fought matches against Jacksonville State, Nicholls and Alabama.
 
The Lady Jaguars were led offensively during the three-match stretch by Mariah Mott and Sereniti Johnson, who each recorded 35 kills. Penina Vito directed the Southern offense with 89 assists, while Najah Harris anchored the defensive effort with 57 digs.
 
Reagan Robinson, Johnson, Mott and Vito each added 20 digs during the three-match stretch. At the net, Norielle Battle paced the Lady Jaguars with eight blocks, followed by Mott with seven.
 
Harris continues to make her mark in Columbia Blue and Gold. The senior has moved into third place in the Southern record book with 1,125 career digs and is just 76 digs behind Lourena Beathely for second place all-time. Harris is also eight service aces away from becoming the seventh Lady Jaguar to reach 100 career aces.
 
On the national leaderboard, Harris ranks sixth in the nation in digs per set at 4.97 and 45th in total digs with 194.
 
Johnson and Mott continue to lead the Lady Jaguars offensively, with each recording 99 kills and averaging 2.61 kills per set. Johnson and Harris lead Southern with 11 service aces apiece, while Vito has recorded 198 assists and Maleah Faust has added 116.
